Hi All,

I am a qualified accountant working in practice at moment, hate where I am working so have just handed in my notice....
My plan is to work for myself, sub-contracting work from other accountants and eventually apply for my practicing cert. I have lined up a couple of jobs but I have no idea what I should be charging out...any help??? Also, any tips for getting my name out there and securing my own clients?

Thanks,

JKM

Am in the same boat myself. Qualified in practise and working in industry, absolutely hate it. Plan to hand in my notice shortly and have been advertising for a few months for my own clients. Haven't had many replies so far but have got a few friends etc which will keep me going for a while.

Its tough to get started isn't it!
I have noticed there is a demand for qual accs to sub contract work though! I have agreed to charge an hourly rate as opposed to a job rate but don't know what to charge- any ideas???

I'm based in the North and the going rate for that sort of work would be £18-20 p.h. Don't really want to go down that route cause it will feel like working for another company again but might have no option if no money coming in!
