Re DeVere.

A quick Google doesn't paint a pretty picture. If you're falling afoul of regulators &clients across the globe...

We came across them when we lived in the middle east,
Firms over there have very different regulation to firms here. They will sell you anything with fees loaded up so they do very well out of every transaction.

Always understand what you are investing in. If it is too complex to understand, don't invest.

There are plenty of products sold in Ireland that are sold as straightforward but the two resident actuaries had trouble unwinding to find out exactly what was being sold.

But while reviewing our current Zurich policy they mentioned these other ones that are promoting a high return yield, they seemed so much higher than anything you get I wondered how they are not well know. They advise these are the policies the banks etc would use when you give your money to them for a fixed return and that's how they make their extra profit also.

Read this carefully.

Somebody is attempting to get the OP to think that somehow there are "hidden deals" out there that banks have access to, but the ordinary saver doesn't.

Ask yourself this question: what do banks do with the deposits they receive?

The answer is that they lend it out to customers at various rates, from 3% mortgages to 20% on credit cards.

Comm banks also put deposits on deposit with their bank, the ECB, at the ECB deposit rate, currently 2.25%.

But the language here is said is such a way that there are somehow special investments that are for some reason hidden from the average customer, and you will be the lucky one if you get in one these deals!!!
