Still awaiting weeks wages

Can someone lend some advise please - my husband was let go from his job in Jan 07. He is still waiting on his P60 and P45 plus over €800 that is owing to him as he was never paid for his last week and whatever holiday money is owing to him.
He met ex employer at the weekend "again" and is getting the same old story, havent the cash yet, things are tight, will sort you out soon. He has offered a cheque but on 2 occasions in the past, the cheque bounced in the credit union and then we had to wait until he had the cash to cover these cheques.

Is there anything that we can do about getting the due money from him - ary words of wisdom we should be offering ex employer!!!
 
Write him a letter setting out what he is required to do under emp. law adn threaten to report him unles he pays up, issues a P.45 within 14 days or so. If that doesn't do the job then it may be that you will have to report him to DETE.
