Hi
Just looking for opinions.
I'm going to north purchase an item in a shop. It's listed as €39.99 and £29.99 so the sterling rate is a better deal.
What i can't figure out is if it's best to use a prepaid sterling card I already have to pay or is it best to use a euro card to get more value out of the current exchange rate and price difference??

It depends on the rate at which you prepaid for the Sterling compared to the spot price when you buy the item, and the commissions and fees associated with each card. Presumably you live very near the border to justify travelling for a saving of approx. €5 less fees.

Are we talking about online ordering or in-store? Have you factored in the delivery costs if applicable?

Anyway, best paying for a GBP purchase using GBP (given that you have a GBP card) so there is no FX rate involved.

Get a revolut card. Prepaid card with good fx rates and decentdapp. Very handy for this type of thing.
