So when giving notice as a landlord that you require the property for your own use, it has to be accompanied by a statutory declaration.

See extract below re the witness portion of this document.

Can this be signed at a Garda Station?


Declared before me ………………………………………….. a [practising solicitor] [notary public] [commissioner for oaths] [peace commissioner] [person authorised by [insert authorising statutory provision] …………………………………………… to take and receive statutory declarations] by [Insert Name of Declarant]
 
It doesn’t matter where the declaration is signed but Gardai are not authorized to take and receive statutory declarations.
 
A peace commissioner will do this for nothing, a Commissioner for Oaths or a practicing solicitor will charge you €10 and notaries prices vary and are not regulated. First two options are best.
