Posting for a Family friend who has been very lax in their PPS record, but will be turning 66 this time next year, so this comes up.

They put on stamps in a Fas scheme 87/88 41J
Notting more until self-employed in 2013 52S

Then Joined A class work AUG 2019 20A
2020 49A
2021 51A
2022 52A
2023 52A
2024 52A

They been total if they get to 520 stamps they will get full pension by payroll in work . Which I Believe is not correct for the following reasons . To Hit 520 Stamps they will have to keep working until end of OCT 2029 ( their will be 69 years old)

Based on the Average method, I believe 87/88 counts as their first year entry into insurable work, or is 2013 when they had S stamps?

Additionally, would they also receive pre-entry credits for the year they joined Class A employment in 2019? I work out 32 extra credits, and does this count towards the 520 needed?

I know the gap is quite significant, and this is because they've been caregivers for most of their lives for other family members. They're now aware of the homemaker/caregiver schemes and looking into this, but when they started caring, they advised that they were not entitled to any support as directly family members were not allow to apply back then in 80's . This was not looked at by them since and were claimed as dependent under spouse later in life until started working 2019.

Their first J contribution is probably their entry date. I am not certain of this. They should ask DSP to confirm if this is the case.

They will need a minimum of 520 full rate paid contributions (class A or S) to get a partial pension.

They could as you state reach the 520 level if they remained in employment beyond age 66.

Pre entry credits don't count towards the 520 target.

They could try to get a friend or family member to register as an employer and employ them as a carer or assistant up to the time they reach 520 paid contributions.

There are details about this on this post.

If they reach the 520 level they can have up to 1040 credits included. These can be carers credits.

clubdid not notice entery date on pdf of statement before but for me and wife their Notting their will have to try guiding the person throught that to order their statement to if entery date is on their one as they 65.

The j class is double effect the credits are no good and they also started the averaging clock back in 87/88 to 2029 when they have 520

I have though been advised to take it as the 1st year of reckonable contributions credited.
It could be the first year when a person actually pays a reckonable Prsi contribution.

Class J is zero cost to the individual and is not reckonable.
Credits are not given at class J so a person starting off at class J would be denied pre entry credits.

AI is stating that class J does not determine the date of entry into the Prsi system.

If the class J don't determine the entry date, they would have entered in 2013 with their class S contributions.

This might prevent class A pre entry credits for 2019.
