Has anyone had difficulty getting their deed released by Start Mortgages to their solicitor? We have our house 'Sale Agreed' but Start Mortgages are holding the sale up as they haven't released the deeds to the solicitor? Has anyone else had this experience, what can we do to speed it up? It is URGENT now as we are afraid we will lose our buyer!!!

Get your solicitor to keep chasing them. They should be able to tell him if they have the deeds, and when they expect to release them.
4 weeks is not a long time with these things, but frustrating.
Was your mortgage originally with PTSB and sold to Start?

Yes PTSB, transferred to Start early this year so I am a bit worried about it.
You'll be grand. They would have found all the deeds before they sold the mortgages, so they definitely exist, but might be in transit between PTSB and Start. But get your solicitor to follow up.

Hi County Girl

You put your house on the market 4 weeks ago.
Your solicitor immediately asked for the deeds.
You have gone sale agreed very quickly.

The only thing unusual about these timelines is the time it took you to go sale agreed.

If you have just gone sale agreed, it would be very unlikely that the seller will pull out if they don't get the contracts within a few weeks.
