I have a non boiler stove in the kitchen about 10 years old, going 24/7 during the winter. We had an unexpected power cut the other day for about 20 mins. It says in the manual that if this happens, and if the power comes back on within approx 15 mins the stove, because of the heat will re-light and sure enough, it did. However, I notice that the stove, yes it is working, but the baffle and coals are not as ` red ` looking as it was before the power cut...output of heat is fine but even if I turn the spindle up to 5 or 6 it does not increase the flame. Has anybody got experience of these stoves? Would I need to turn it off(proceedure is it has to cool down for 4 hours before re-starting!!) or is it a case of brining in the guy who services it......that's another days work....waiting....waiting.....and I am reluctant to turn it of in these cold days....Any advice welcome
