I am considering opening a Standard Life Investment Bond. The charges for Standard Life Global Index Fund 80 is listed at 0.95%. Anyone knows do they do lower charges depending on amount invested?

I set up an investment bond with them earlier in the year and was able to get a discount of 0.25% on the published AMC's for investment above €200k, as well as 101% allocation (to cover the levy). So that would be 0.70% for the fund you list. Surrender penalties of 1% in years 1 - 3. I don't know if their pricing is still the same, but this was on offer about 10 months ago.

Great! How did you get that @neo123 like did you phone their execution only or use one of their advisors or use another broker?

I previously worked there at one stage so i knew the individual involved in direct sales. I don't immediately see it on the website but if you call up the main contact number i'm sure they will connect you, or provide contact details.

In case you're open to other firms, i also explored Zurich direct at the time, and they had 0.75% for up to €200k with no exit penalties, or 0.60% with 5%/4%/3%/2%/1% surrender penalties in years 1-5.

Alternatively i'd imagine execution only brokers such as @LDFerguson might well have comparable (better?) pricing. I have subsequently used them for other products and found them great!

Other insurance companies didn't offer direct as far as i could tell, but execution only brokers had options/pricing for some of the others. Aviva seemed to have reasonably keen pricing, but limited fund options. New Ireland and Irish Life were considerably more expensive at the time for what i was looking at. All of the above information a bit stale, as it's almost a year old, but hopefully of help.
