When making a donation to a charity, do I have to put a stamp on the envelope addressed to them or do they qualify for "freepost"?

Yes, you need to put a stamp on it unless they have a specific freepost address. Some charities do have freepost but most, especially if they are small, won't

Recommend strongly to do an electronic transfer instead of posting cheques around! Saves a lot of hassle and therefore money.

And even if they do have Freepost you'll save the charity a quid or so by stamping the letter.
