Stamp duty when renting within 5 years

Hi,
Me and my partner bought a house 2 years ago for 290000, we were first time buyers and it was below the stamp duty threshold. However, we are leaving the country for a year and a half and want to rent out the house. Would we have to pay stamp duty. Thanks.

As far as I know the clawback on this property would be €290K @ 5% = €14.5K and you would presumably be liable for this on renting the property out within 5 years of purchase.

Doesn't that depend on if it was a new house when they bought it, which the OP didn't specify in the original post

Assuming you still have the original invoice that included the Vat amount and number. Otherwise you're boned.
