stamp duty on buying into a house

Little bit of advise on stamp duty would be appreciated.

My brother owns his own house (with his recently seperated wife)
I own my own house
If my brother wants to buy the wife out, and if I buy a share in the house am I liable for stamp duty on the bit I purchase?

Very simple if you purchase a property from a blood relative the stamp duty is halved on the value on the portion you purchase.
