Stamp duty exemption - debatable source of funding

Your accountant is suggesting you turn a bona fide, no-strings-attached gift of 20k into a 20k debt.

Strange advice from an accountant.
 
Yes. People seem to be more concerned about the loss of 20K (or 17K really) of my class C allowance. I am happier to have the 20K cash.
