Hi, my spouse is an employed PAYE worker on €48k. I'm a stay-at-home mum. Now that the kids are getting a little older, I want to start making some money. This will only be a small amount, probably between €2-€3k per year. How will this affect my husband's tax credits?

Do I need to register with Revenue now even though I won't be declaring anything until Oct?
And, from reading this forum, am I right in thinking that Form 12 is what I should use?

Any help would be great. Thanks

You will need to apply for tax credits in your own name. A Form 12A will do the job which is on the Revenue website. At that amount of income (€2-3K PA) you should retain your home carers allowance.

Kassc, I presume that you are self employed?

You can register with Revenue Form TR1, then next year a form 12 or form 11. You will pay 20% income tax on your profit as your spouse will have your tax credits.
