Recently got involved in the sports & social in my company. About 20 members in Dublin of varied ages. Looking to organise some events for 2007. Anyone good any good experiences?
You might try asking the other people what they are interested in doing - i.e. type a short questionnaire with all of the suggestions above but most importantly - a large space for 'other' to attract ideas.
I'd also contact some of your local pubs etc and see if they will offer any incentives for you holding events in their premises on their quieter nights. I work in Swords and some local pubs have offered 'first drink free' and/or free 'finger food' for 10+ people if we held a pub quiz or similar on a Monday - Wednesday night.
Discounted tickets to shows/plays are often popular e.g. Mamma Mia in the point recently. Sea Safari is another good one when the weathers a bit warmer - see .
Or how about a comedy night? Or a trip to a brewing company such as Dublin Brewing company? Or even a trip on the Ghostbus or a visit to the Dracula museum around Hallowe'en? A pool competition is often a popular one also.
Or what about a group visit to Taste of Dublin later in the year?
