Spam emails from AAM

Can you specify exactly what you are getting.

1. If emails, from whom? Are they addressed to Arthur mc bride

2. Direct messages on askaboutmoney as distinct from emails

3 the spam posts which everyone can see

Sorry for delayed reply Brendan.

I got a lot of spam in last week or so from various sources and to my personal email. I appreciate it seems to be an aAM wide issue. Was just letting you know is all. In fact i think its the same spam that everyone can see on AAM.

Arthur

Askaboutmoney was hacked years ago but before you registered so you should not be getting any spam email via askaboutmoney.

I get a lot of spam every day. Most has nothing to do with askaboutmoney.

How are you connecting spam emails you receive to Askaboutmoney?

No one else has reported receiving these.

Yes Leo, I think I probably do.
So you are receiving alerts as you requested. Now, these alerts might be as the result of spam posts getting past the prevention measures here, but that is a very different thing to AAM sending you spam. You might not perceive much of a difference but there are legal and reputational risks for sites who send spam.

Good to get to the bottom of it - I was a bit worried.

If you check each forum

If you are watching a forum, you will see the unwatch button on the top right hand side as above.

If you tick that, you will stop watching it and it will look like this.

I am not sure why anyone would watch a particular forum? There are so many posts that you would get lots of emails every day. So you might as well check the forum every day.
