If it was a rubbish one would not mind and would simply get a universal remote but it has alot of functionaliy that you can only use with this remote.
There should be a model number on the remote. Try googling this for links. I had similar issue with JVC system. A sister company of Currys do this sort of stuff - [broken link removed]
Are you 100% sure it is a faulty remote? Likely it is but it could be a problem on the receiver end. Could you test any of the basic functionality with an existing universal remote if you own one?
You can't see infrared "light" with the naked eye!There is no light coming from the sensor in the remote
I`m certain.Are you sure about that? I thought that radio frequencies were below infrared frequencies?

Guess I should have just tried it rather than doubting you. Just did and it does work. Now how to explain why...I`m certain.
