My new build Timber Frame is 4000sq ft. Looking at U/F for whole house, and geothermal system. This will require
(a) A 17 kw heatpump,
(b) I need to dig up half the parish for pipes.
(c) 3 phase electricity supply- I will need ESB poles and stays all over the
other half.
(d) It also gives me dilemmas about floor coverings in upstairs
bedrooms - carpet not ideal etc.
Am looking at using an additional oil system to heat rads upstairs, which will eliminate problems outlined above.
Now I have just heard about ' Solo Radiators ', which appear to be Rads which will work off goethermal, if I am reading correctly from their website www.lowenergy.ie.
Has anybody used or considered using them and how did you get on?
Somebody else on this forum said their 'head was melted' considering the all heating options - I have to say that without this site my head would now be a pool of water! Thanks everybody who contributes to this little goldmine of info.
