"we have increased our prices this week so let us know if you wish to proceed and the quote was for the last property."
Seems to me that you got a quote for one service but then looked for a different one so the fact that there's a difference in price doesn't seem surprising to me. I don't really know what "reserving" a property means here but the work involved may be different and priced differently for different properties. Similarly for conveyancing on different properties.I got a quote for the initial property (B) on 28th February and confirmed to engage their service on 3rd
I found the 2nd property on 3rd March and notified them of it.
So your thread title is totally misleading? So basically they hadn't started any work on the first by the 3rd of March and they told me they had returned the contracts on 7th march. I'm aware that the deposit is refundable.

This might help. In spite of the title most of the information isn't Dublin specific.Happy to hear from experienced people what the process is.

I had informed them that I was in the process of bidding on a property in K area but another one had come up in B area. So they gave me a quote for K (because it was higher) and reassured that if it didn't work out they would work with me on other ones.
I agree...You have certainly no reason for complaint as the original quote was for one transaction and when this changed you were quoted promptly for a different transaction.

I agree...Are they different types of property? If in a new estate the solicitor may have recently handled one in the same estate. Other property might seem more complex.
