I know I probably need to hire an account, but before i do i'd like to try understand this myself.

I'm in the baby step stage of starting my own company. ( very early stage )

In my head this company ( in a years time ) will have 3-4 employees working from an office here in Dublin, but right now it's just me working from my home office.

So at the moment I'm a sole trader. But in the future I want to be bigger with a few employees.

What do I register as ?

Thank you.

If you ultimately plan to operate as a company, I would recommend that you start off as a company. Also if you are in the early stages, make sure you keep all receipts for expenses. If the company has a loss in the early years, this can be offset against future profits.

Pre-trading expenses may also be brought into the mix.

Good luck
