Hi there,
I am self employed and for the next few months will be working out of home. I will be down the country staying in one location for perhaps a week and then moving on. Are the following allowable against tax?
1) All accommodation
2) All meals
3) Fuel involved driving to these locations( I know that in the civil service toy can not claim mileage travelling to your place of work)
kind regards

As long as the expenses are wholly and exclusively incurred in connection with your trade then yes.

Thanks arch.
I wasn't sure about meals as if I were at home there is no tax relief for food so wondering why so when away?

You will get a deduction provided it is necessary for you to be away from home for business purposes. meals will be an allowable expenses when you have to work away from your base

for self employed ..its 'incurred' as in you need receipts as well as 'wholly and exclusively'.
