A friend gave me a hand doing some work on a website.
I want to pay him 400Euro for the help.

What is the best way to do this.

I'm mainly concerned about the tax implications.

Is buying a voucher for him the best way?

All suggestions apprceiated.

Thanks

Vouchers are only acceptable to the value of 250 euro and after that then it is subject to BIK tax as far as Im aware.

Why should u be worried about his tax though - Can you not just give him the 400 euro and if he declares it then all is fine otherwise its on his head!

Sure - I don't want him to have to declare 400 Euro and pay half of it tax!

You make money you pay tax we could debate this till the cows come home.
God I hate that Irish mentality
Pay him what ever way you want.
But in relation to giving him 250 euro in vouchers that only works with employees

Why not pay him 400 plus the tax, so that the net benefit to him is 400!

Then he has to pay tax on the 400 plus the tax and on and on ............

Just pay him how you want the tax issues is his problem not yours
