Social welfare and tax free allowance

I am 4 months pregnant and my contract in is due to end at the end of march so i will be out of work. I am currently looking for work but dont hold out much hope. I am just wondering if I do have to go on social welfare what happens to my tax free allowance is that it gone. Secondly if this is the case would it work out better financially if I was just to give my tax free allowance to my huaband and not bother with social welfare at all.

If you are claiming Jobseeker's Benefit, this income is counted for tax purposes. This is more a taxation question adn should be posted in the taxation forum, I think
