Slack Door Hinge

My bedroom door hinge was noisy recently so i though it would be a good idea to put some WD40 on it, now the door wont stay over it keeps opening back, the only way the door will stay over is to close it completly.

Does anyone know how to undo this problem?

you could try adjust hinges slightly but not sure what type of door you have..cannot adjust much tough as gap may become noticeable at hinge

You could attach a stopper to the door to hold it in the desired positon? Alternatively, just wait for the effect of the oil to fade over time.

ALDI/LIDL often have those free-standing metal door stops for sale.

puy a hair dryer on it

remove the bottom hinge from the frame. put a couple of small washers between the frame and the hinge, (2 should be enough) and re screw the hinge to the frame.
