Just wodering has anybody tried an electric heating system that is basically fitted into your skirting boards. Its from a company called Dryzone. As it stands there is a big(ugly) storage heater in the living room and I really want to get rid of it. But I've never heard anything about skirting board heating, apart from the research that I have done. Apparently it has all the advantages of both radiators and underfloor heating. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have just had skirting board heating from Dryzone installed. It looks fantastic and it's great to have all walls free for furniture etc but we have had a number of problems; 1) It wasn't tested properly so the first time we turned it on it leaked in two places 2) one section is still not working and no one in Dryzone seems to know how to get in working. The system is imported from Italy but they don't seem to have an expert to fix it if things go wrong. So the aftercare service has not been great. We are still waiting over a week for someone to come out and have a look at it. Having said that we are still optimistic that when it's up and running it will be great. But I would ask very carefully about who will install it and what service they have if things go wrong. And make sure you withold some payment until it is working satisfactorily.

Thanks for replying. I am snagging on my place next week and was hoping to organise this a week or two after.. I think I was dealing with Liam in Dryzone. He wasn't the most helpfull of people. They had reccomended an electrician called Paul Hunt who could fit the system. I think that the version that I would be getting would be different to yours. Mine is the electric model and not the water model. They also reccomended a guy called Kasper Pupois to fit the skirtings afterwards. All in for a room that is approx 20ft*20ft its costing €1400(I'm fairly sure thats how much they quoted me). Can I ask you a question. What does it physically look like. Are the skirtings just like regular ones are are they a little bit ugly. The after service thing kind of worries me. I assume its a one year guarantee that you get with it.

I had the skirting boards installed in my house over a year ago. It was a friend of mine who told me about Dryzone. I went to see the system that had been fitted in his place. I wanted something different other than bulky radiators. When I saw it, I decided to go for it. Looking back, it was a good choice. The skirtings are quite seamless in style, and so far found them cheaper to run than ordinary radiators. I had the system installed by someone suggested by Dryzone and it took them only a few days to finish.

Don't about the other comments, but I found the people at Dryzone quite pleasant in dealing with, actually I thought they were quite honest and straight with things from the outset. i didn't think a minute they were lying about their product or else.

Hope that helps

Good luck
