Siro cabling

Hi,
Just taken a plunge and moved to Digiweb after 2 decades with Virgin Media. The regret is setting in and I am not even connected yet. The engineer is installing the Siro box and I was told that the cable comes from the electricity box and runs outside the house and from what I can see is exposed outside the house. It that a good idea from a security point of view beside the aesthetics? I assume my Ring doorbell and home alarm system will be connected to the WiFi? What’s to stop and intruder cutting the cable?

Most alarms have a SIM card and use a mobile connection for monitoring

But if you need connection to TV or alarm from outside, you will be not be able to if the internet connection is down

Obviously you could pay extra to have the cables run inside the house
