SIRO - Anyone using a provider via SIRO cabling?

I subscribe to SIRO's email. I occasionally check to see if they've installed in my area (Dublin 14). They haven't.

I can understand how they might prioritize installing in areas not served by the likes of Virgin Media. (VM are available all over D14, I think.)

However, a bit more competition for VM would be nice.

1. Is anyone living in an area that has both SIRO and VM?
2. Is anyone using a provider that uses SIRO cabling?

Yes, had VM but got siro fibre installed and then went with Digiweb and now Pure Telecom. Way better than VM and you can switch providers with almost zero hassle
 
I have SIRO broadband.

I have been with Vodafone in the past, now with Pure Telecom.

After 12 months at 40 euro, the Pure bill jumped to 70.

They are cute, they don't have the UAN number on the bill, making it harder to switch.

I am now obliged to contact Pure somehow to get the UAN, and of course they will try to convince me to stay with them.
 
Spoke to a Siro engineer installing in Monkstown, Dublin the other day.

He said that SIRO installation is being wound down - apparently, ESB’s decision. So, most of Dublin 14 will not get it, alas.

Looks like we’re stuck with VM.
