I am a single parent and my youngest child is now gone to third level education. I am still getting a single parent tax allowance for her even though she is living away from home(I pay her rent). She is geting a education grant and is also working and earning about 150 to 200 euro a week. I was thinking of ringing the tax office but would like some idea of where I stand first of all.

You are entitled to Single Parent tax credit. To qualify:
1) If you have a child living with you for the whole or part of the tax year (I assume she lives with you part time), and
2) Child is over 18 but receiving full time education.
Her income is not relevant - this was abolished in 2001
