Hi,
I'm going to be un-employed/out of work (PAYE) for 1 - 2 Weeks between current company closing down & taking up employment with another company.Should I sign on for this period, I don't expect to recieve any benifits as I've recieved a reasonable redundancy payment, but I don't want to lose any entitlements further down the line, simply by not signing on for this period.

Yes, go into your local Social Welfare office on your first week and sign on - unless your redundancy payment was very big you should be entitled to some benefits. You should sign on anyway so as not to lose any PRSI contributions for the year. Go in and see what they say.............
