Should we get rid of the thumbs down button?

No i get that but was more so wondering what specifically you disapproved of?

I think these companies take a lot of money from a lot of punters and here they are failing to protect those punter's data.

Mind you, do we really need any like or dislike buttons, probably not ?
The Like button is a quicker way to say "I agree", "OK" or "Thanks". Otherwise the thread would be cluttered with short comments.

The Dislike button probably isn't needed - if you disagree strongly enough with someone you'll reply to their post and say why. If you Dislike someone's post usually they take it personally and Dislike your next post, and so on.

If you find a post really objectionable (obscenities, personal attacks) you would Report it.

Most forums view the thumbs down as being disagreeing with the poster or unhappy they posted it, but I notice on AAM that some people take it as disagreeing as not being supportive of the poster/post.

So say if somebody posted bank charges are going up in Bank of Toytown, people would give a thumbs down, which in most common forums would mean they're unhappy with the person's post and they disagree with the person posting it. Whereas on AAM I've definitely noticed people seem to think, oh, I'll give this a thumbs down if I disagree with bank charges increasing, rather than the post per se. I think then posters can view this quite personally, or as an indication the post wasn't valid or useful etc

So I'd recommend getting rid of the dislike button because of how people tend to use it on this forum. AAM is a special forum it seems
