I have a good friend returning to Zambia after retiring after 25 years working in Ireland.
She wishes to find a company that will transfer two trunk loads of personal items from Ireland to Zambia.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated,

DHL? For transferring student stuff to/from the UK I used to use SendmyBag. No longer because Brexit caused such problems. I noticed they used DHL.

Has your friend not asked their friends in Zambia who they use?
 
There are a few companies like these that can get quotes.
Insurance is the big thing. It's worth taking the time to ensure that the goods are actually insured. That bit is expensive.
