Hi All

My gutter was damaged by snow and is covered by Home Insurance. The gutter is shared with a neighbour(who are tenants) what is the best way of organizing repair of the gutter

Thanks

both insurers should share the cost. report to your insurers and get estimate for repairs. tell them it shared gutter and have your neighbour do the same.

If you have a no claims bonus on your house insurance, weight up the costs

neighbour(who are tenants)

Ask your neighbour for their landlord's contact details, or else ask them to contact the landlord on your behalf. Structural/maintenance issues are not their responsibility, as they are tenants.

I have damage as result of snow and slow thaw, considerable water damage was caused to the roof and building therein.
My insurance co. have stated that they are not responsible as the house is 30 years old and the felt was not in perfect condition.
Can anybody help are the insuirance co. liable.
Thanks Browtal

I thought that you would be off in the Canaries now or down in your place in France?

Did someone come out and look at your roof?

I've seen a few of these claims where insurers are saying no, unless you have accidental damage cover on your buildings. Just to be aware.

Boy you are sharp. No home curently to enjoy the White Christmas, but glad my question is for a friend.
I thought I had the answer that good maintenance might have solved this one. Not what we want to hear. regards Browtal
