severence pay questions

I began a new job last weekend and was scheduled to work through next sunday. However, when I went to work yesterday I was let go for no apparent reason. can I claim severence pay for the hours I was scheduled to work? I had not notice of being let go.

Was there a contract ? Was it a full time position ? It sounds like it was a casual job for a short period of time. Sounds like too much hassle to be honest unless it was a long term, fully contracted position.
