Hello Guys,
I have always heard of private limited companies being setup in Ireland by business people. I never heard of some one setting up a corporation in Ireland. Is corporation an American thing?

I seen by wiki answers here that the difference between corporation and private limited company is they are taxed differently. private limited companes are tax on corporate tac and private limited companies and tax on personnel income of the shareholders.

Is this the same way in Ireland?

Can you setup a corporation in Ireland easily?

thanks for your help.

No, this does not apply in Ireland.

If you are setting up a business you can do so as a sole trader or as a partnership or as a private limited company.

If you were looking for a lot of investors, you might set up a Public limited company, but that would be very unlikely.

Corporation is simply the "American English" terminology for a company.
