Setting up an online forum

Thinking of setting up an online forum. Any tips on getting started. Thinking it could become a bit of a business, like an online magazine with forum and could sell ads. Anyone done that? Is that too much to ask of a simple forum template product?

Quite easy to do if you have the technical expertise. Dont under estimate the effort (and money) it will take to make it a business and\or attract enough people to it in order to be able to sell ads. Whatever your idea is you can be very sure there is already at least a few well established forums for it out there. Why will yours be better?

Not trying to put you off, you just need to research before you spend time\money on this.
