Hello,
Im a self employed musician working for an american cruise line. In the past I have been eligable for the seafarers allowence but this year, as I am completing my Form 11 on ROS, it says

"Where there is a claim for Seafarer's Allowance, there must be an income from one of the following sources: Irish employment, Irish Proprietary directorship, Foreign employment subject to PAYE, or Irish employment not subject to PAYE"

As I dont fall into any of these catogories Im uncertain of what to do.....
Has anyone any experience of paying tax in a situation similiar to mine?

Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated!

This is a specialist area, and there are specialist accountants who deal with this. However, based on my understanding of the situation, you are not entitled to the relief as you don't fall into any of the relevant categories.
