Hi. This is my first post and first of all, want to say what a great resource this forum is (from lurking).
I'm newly self-employed and just have a quick question. Now, I know that you can't write off meals as expenses normally, since you eat to live not work. However, what's the situation when you're away on the job for an extended period of time? For example, say I live in Donegal and have some work down in Waterford for 5 days. I know you can claim for your travel expenses and your B&B or whatever, but I keep hearing different things about meals. From various sources I've heard you can write off 0%, 50% or 100% of the cost.
If anyone has a definite answer it would be great.
