Security Alarm Silent Activation

I have been informed by the security alarm guy that if I am ever followed in to the house and forced to deactivate the alarm if I input a number one above the last number of the code the alarm will be switched off but a silent panic alarm will be sent to the monitoring company.
I can not find any details of this on the internet. Has anyone else been told this and is it common knowledge.

Yeah, common enough.
Often called a "duress code".

Yes its possible, but not always your code + 1.
I would generally set up as something different to reduce the risk of false alarms.
