Scam Message from DPD.COM

This is a new one on me.

A text message was delivered to my phone this morning with a DPD.COM source saying they had failed to contact me to make a delivery yesterday, 17/07/2025, and that the package would be held at the local depot until 18/07/2025 and then returned to sender.

The phone minder software isolated the message and I took the recommended default option of "Delete and Report".

Its a bit concerning that the scammers got my number somehow but they messed up on a few fronts.
  • Messages from DPD locally don't originate from DPD.COM
  • I wasn't expecting a delivery using DPD
  • I was home all day yesterday and no-one called to the door or even pulled up outside
  • Most of us in our neck of the woods who get DPD deliveries, know the drivers personally.
As I said, this is first for me, so stay vigilant and if a link looks in any way sick, please don't click.

Hi,
I got the same message. We are away on holidays so there is every chance I could be missing a delivery.
What threw me was the +63 phone number - this prefix is The Philippines

Scammers just email a range of numbers say from 087 200 0001 to 087 299 9999 - most of these will fail, but some will be real telephone numbers

As it doesn't cost anything to send an SMS message, it's all gain if someone responds and gets scammed

Such scam texts, including from DPD, are far from new. E.g.:
I got 2 texts this week - one supposedly from An Post, another DPD. Both about a customs charge is due. All scams.
This is supposed to help and maybe did here since your phone quarantined it as a scam text?
