Hi all, Happy new year.

I have a 5 year scheme returning in March.
I am wondering will I be liable to tax on the profits?
How do I verify this prior to making a decision on selling or keeping my shares.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards.

Almost certainly, yes. This may be automatically dealt with via payroll. You should check with your payroll department.

Have you read these Revenue guidance articles?

Really grateful for your reply but this is something I've looked revenue website but that's unclear hence my question.

I know others who matured last year, got taxed via payslip and have received refunds now. This has me confused as to what decision to make on maturity.

What specifically is unclear in the Revenue guidance documentation?

So presumably you will be subject to the same treatment?

What exactly do you mean? What decision needs to be made? That's presumably something that your employer can clarify for you?

Your employer should also be able to outline the situation with regard to income tax/PRSI/USC (and maybe CGT) and their SAYE scheme without giving you specific individual tax or investment advice.

Ask your HR or rewards team, they should have the details of your individual plan and what tax should apply to them. I have 2 different plans in the same company, each with a separate tax treatment due to the nuances of how they are set up. We get clear guidance on what we can expect once they mature.
