Anyone know of a good real store that sells satnavs. I dont know much about them and would like to see a few and get an understanding of the pros/cons between them.

Also try Peats and Dixons.

But, do ask about how up to date the maps are. Especially in Ireland where there's been much development, some SatNavs don't have housing estates that were built 7 years ago.

I often wondered about that. Can they be updated online or do you have to buy updated maps.

At the moment the Garmin range have the best mapping for Ireland.
Tom Tom are good in city centre but Gamrin cover rural Ireland better.

Garmin use the Navteq maps, V10 are the latest maps so look out for them.

Generally you have to buy the updates as they come up.
However if you buy a unit and an update is released shortly after then you may get the update for free.
