New boiler just installed in a rental property approx €3000.
I think this is usually written off over 8 years as capital allowances.
However as we plan to sell the house shortly we will have unused capital allowances next year €2600 approx.
What is the preferred method to account for this properly.
The proceeds of the boiler is tied in with the sale of the house. Is it necessary to split the sales proceeds between the boiler and the house.
Or is it acceptable to say the proceeds of boiler were zero and put the €2600 balance in as a balancing allowance.
Thank you in advance
