salary scale at Dublin City Council

Hi there,

can anyone shed some light on this for me please. I'm currently working in the private sector and I've applied for a job as an Administrative Officer. However, the application form details denote a salary scale of €48k - €58k (Maxiumum) with "entry point to this scale will be determined in accordance with Circulars issued by the Dept. of Environment.....".
If successful, would i have to join at the lowest salary level ?

Usually you join at the lowest point. If you are coming from another public sector job at the same level then they may increase you on the scale but the majority of people have to start at the lowest point.
