I am in the process of booking a Ryanair flight for February. One of the legs has a buy one get one half price offer.

When I make my purchase I am initially given the 50% off my second flight.

However later in the process the 50% off disappears when I am choosing my 10 kg plus priority payment.

The running total at the top of the page disappears the 50% off.

As I proceed the full price of the journey is shown and the 50% off for the second flight disappears and it is never given back. I went all the way to the "make your payment" stage.

Anyone else spotted this?

Nothing is what it seems.

It looks as if the 50% off the second flight applies to all flights with the "sticker" attached. Not the case.

It only applies if you are NOT taking any luggage with you, except a small bag. It does not apply if you are taking a 10 kg bag plus priority.

So you can get 50% off the second flight if that person is not flying with luggage.

Question. Is it possible for one person to purchase a 10 kg bag plus priority and the second person travelling not to purchase a 10 kg bag plus priority? on the same booking or do they have to do two separate bookings?

Question. Is it possible for someone to do the above AND reserve seats together?

I would be happy for both myself and my wife to travel with one person taking priority plus 10 kg bag and the other just taking a small bag on board.....provided we can reserve seats together?

Are they trying to get people not to take luggage onboard but to put it in the hold? Is there a charge to put your luggage in the hold?

I noticed that when I purchase and pay for priority plus a 10 kg bag and then proceed to the seat selection (additional) payment I am offered a seat for let's say €7.

If I decide not to go priority plus 10kg bag and just travel with a small bag that is free in the cabin......the exact same seat that I choose is not €7 but €14.

You need to be careful about the add ons and not just the basic seat price because these prices are constantly changing.

Also, I have noticed that I can be charged €7 for a seat outgoing but on the return journey the same seat is usually €2 or €3 more expensive.

Can you check-in a month in advance if you are not buying priority and only bringing the free bag?

If you don't buy a return journey but buy the flights as two separate journeys.....are there savings to be made? For example if the seat outgoing is €7 but €9 on the way back as part of a return journey purchase. Has anyone noticed if the price of the seat purchase is different when two separate bookings are made?
