My washing machine is leaking and I can see that the rubber at the bottom end of door is ripped and the water is leaking out from here,
can I move the rubber where ripped up to the top end of door thus stopping the leak as the water is resting against the glass and the ripped part is letting water out,
so can I somewhere rotate the rubber, wanted to ask before I make a mess

Hi dodo,

Can't imagine moving it to the top would make any difference, if the rubber is perished it will probably still leak whether its at the top or bottom.

Have a read through these two sites to see if they give any advice:

You could also try ringing www.mastercare.ie to see if they can give you a price for the rubber only, for them to call out and replace it if necessary or if they can give you any other option.

I had the same problem with a small hole in the rubber of my washing machine last year. Called out Mastercare who suggested just moving the hole to the top as the rest of the rubber was fine and it was a cheaper/quicker solution. Hey presto - a year later and still no problems.

If you need spare parts, go to your local recycling center. I had a leak in one of my washing machines caused by the absence of the steel ring around the rubber. I went to the recycling centre and picked up a replica f.o.c. It's amazing the machines/fridges etc that are thrown out that can give us loads of spare parts.
