RTE’s The Business sets up a Pop Up Bank

Are you struggling to find credit or capital for your business or start up idea? Imagine if everyone who offered credit or capital in Ireland came to one venue for one day only and you could choose who to talk to?
Well, on Tues Feb 8th this will happen at the Croke Park Conference Centre in Dublin.

RTE’s The Business TV show is organising a Pop Up Bank for one day only.
From banks to credit unions, state agencies to venture capitalists, charities to non profit organisations, The Business Pop Up Bank will pull it all together to try and help you find the best credit agency for your business.

“We have spent the last few weeks ringing around to garner support for this idea,” said RTE producer Marie Toft. “We’ve made dozens of calls to try and contact everyone who offers credit or capital in Ireland and we’ve been delighted with the reaction.”

Amongst those attending include Enterprise Boards, Enterprise Ireland, Bank of Ireland, Ulster Bank, AIB, The Irish League of Credit Unions, First Steps, InterTrade Ireland, Dublin Business Innovation Centre/Halo Business Angel Partnership, LEADER, Clann Credo, Grow Corp Group LTD, Quintas, Ryan Academy Propeller Seed Fund, Kernel Capital, Delta Partners, Endeavour Programme and the Irish Local Development Network plus many more.

“There has been a real issue with lack of credit for business and we wanted to acknowledge that,” explained Marie. “But we wanted to do something positive and constructive about it so we decided on the pop up bank. This is a completely non profit event. Obviously there is no fee for agencies to take a stand and in the spirit of what we’re trying to do, Croke Park Conference Centre has donated their facilities for free.”

Anyone who needs credit/capital or grants for business is invited to attend. This could be someone with an idea who wants to get started, someone who needs capital to keep going, or a business which wants to expand.

“All of the agencies attending will have their own stands, but we’re also looking to film people pitching their ideas to venture capitalists if anyone would like to get in touch with us in advance,” said Marie.

The Business TV Show, which will be presented by George Lee, will go on air on RTE One in the Spring. It is the TV accompaniment to the very successful Radio One show which is also presented by Lee.

So come along to the Croke Park Conference Centre on Tues Feb 8th and state your case and who knows, you might start to access the funding you need. Doors open at 11am and close at 3pm.

There is no charge for this event.
