when I try to log in using portal . rtb . ie :

it says

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access this resource.

It took ages to find the login page because it keeps suggesting i need to create an account
But i already have an account

I see this question already asked on here but i don't see the solution

This error only occurs for me when I tether/hotspot from my mobile using my Vodafone mobile data. It works ok on other ISPs (non-mobile WiFi). It seems like the RTB are blocking access via Vodafone mobile. (No idea why - all my banking etc works fine via Vodafone mobile hotspot)

It's from the desktop I get the error

I do have anti virus on the desktop

I can login on my phone

But hard to see on my phone

Maybe it's the wifi provider / network
Like I said earlier my phone works. So i'll just try that
The wifi is coming from Sky
AI / Google suggests

AI Overview

The "Forbidden You don't have permission" error on the RTB (Residential Tenancies Board) portal means
the server blocked your access, usually due to missing login/registration, incorrect permissions, a bad browser cache/cookies, or the RTB temporarily restricting your IP, often fixed by clearing cache, trying a different browser/device, disabling VPNs, or contacting the RTB if you're a registered landlord or tenant.

Common Fixes for Users
  1. Log In Properly: Ensure you're logged into the correct account (landlord/tenant) and have completed the registration/verification steps on the RTB website.
  2. Clear Cache & Cookies: Your browser might have old data. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then restart it.
  3. Try Another Browser/Device: Use a different web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) or device to see if the issue persists.
  4. Disable VPN/Proxy: If you're using a VPN or proxy, turn it off, as websites sometimes block these.
  5. Restart Router: Restarting your home router can give you a new IP address, which might resolve IP-based blocks.

I switched my wifi to the phone hotspot
And IT WORKED
So you're correct @stormy
Some networks: Sky for me
Vodafone for you, don't work
Finally figured something out

Update
I switched back to my Sky wifi
Then i turned on a VPN that is an option in my Anti virus subscription (Norton)
And yes it works with the VPN enabled

I am getting same 'forbidden' error on PC laptop hot-spotting from my iPhone (with Virgin Media) on Chrome, Edge and Firefox (after clearing data as instructed from an email from RTB below, after I complained). Same forbidden message from safari on iPhone (even with private browsing). I used to have an account with RTB, now I can't log in anymore. What a mess.

Regarding the "Forbidden" message you encountered, this may be related to a 403 error, which often occurs due to IP address restrictions. To resolve this, please try accessing the portal from an alternative IP address or device. If the issue persists, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider to request the removal of any IP blacklisting. Additionally, you can send supporting documents, such as error messages and previous correspondence, to us for further assistance.

For clearing cache, which might help in accessing the RTB online account, please follow these steps based on your web browser:

  • Google Chrome: Open Chrome, click the three dots, select "More Tools," then "Clear Browsing Data." Set the time range to "All time," check "Cached images and files" and "Cookies," then click "Clear Data."
  • Microsoft Edge: Open Edge, click the three dots, select "Settings," then "Privacy, search, and services." Click "Choose what to clear," check "Cached images and files" and "Cookies," then click "Clear now."
  • Mozilla Firefox: Open Firefox, click the menu button, select "Settings," then "Privacy & Security." Scroll to "Cookies and Site Data," click "Clear Data," check both options, then click "Clear".

Try using VPN on your phone
Basically it seems if using a UK based Internet provider rtb thinks you're outside Ireland and blocks
