Hi all,
Decision time again, been presented 2 options in regard to the 3 roof lights in my build as follows:
1) Velux, 2400 euro with a u-value of 0.81 triple glazed.
2) Fakro, 3000 euro, quad glazed units, u value 0.57. passive rated & cert
Is the extra 600 euro for the Fakro worth it? taking in that the window glazing in the rest of the house is also passive, but and it is a big but "She who must be obeyed" wants a particular sliding door which is tripled glazed but has a u value of 1.0. Which in my mind negates any chance of maybe going for a passive cert. I've consulted my engineer and he say's it is a overall picture that counts with regard to PHPP, so could still get certed. Is there any weight in what my engineer is stating in regard to passive standard or does all glazing have to hit a u value or 0.8 or below to be considered for passive??
