However, the victim has made her wishes known. If he did show up in court it would likely be dismissed on that basis. But he needs to show up.

Polanski was found guilty of the crime more than 30 years ago, after pleading guilty.

He skipped before sentencing, so that is all that remains outstanding.

If it was a Catholic priest on the run after 30 years, I think Hollywood's reaction would be very different.

He is convicted of a sex crime with a 13 year old girl - he should spend the rest of his years in a very uncomfortable place
