Ridding AAM of trolling for good

Have the mods given this any serious thought?

Cant we rid ourselves of these ejits who have nothing better to do with their lives?

How about deleting their remarks, or keeping an eye on ip addresses and barring them for periods of time.

I'm talking about the real nuisance stuff that goes on.
It's taking away from good debates.

Our approach to moderation is discussed in some detail .

It's not easy to decide which comments to edit or delete. The moderators often disagree with each other as to what constitutes a trolling post. If you delete such a post, are you deleting it because it's expressing a view you disagree with?

I hope we get the balance between allowing people to express their views and allowing people to post absolute rubbish about right. Do you think we are too easygoing? Or are you just trolling yourself?

No. Genuinely not trolling. I'm just sick and tired of some of the obvious rubbish that gets posted. Particularly in this FORUM sometimes.

I understand what you're saying though.

What do you expect to find in a forum named 'Letting of Steam' except " obvious rubbish " eh ?

Isnt that why Brendan & Co had the smart idea of inventing it so all the other forums could maintain focus ?

You know yourself - you dont have to go there if you dont like it.
